I always feel honored when I get an inquiry for a newborn session. I was so excited to get to photograph this sweet baby girl but what I didn’t know beforehand was that this mama used the same homebirth midwife AND doula as me.

Newborn photos are some of my absolute favorite photo sessions. It’s such a vulnerable time in a family’s timeline. Mama could still be recovering, everyone might be sleep deprived, or maybe siblings are having a harder time adjusting than you expected.

I find that with most session I do, I return home and say “that is my favorite type of session!”. I really do love being invited into families homes and documenting such a precious time. Having a newborn in your home really lasts for such a short period of time. It’s really important to actually document it.
