Have you ever bought a house and your real estate agent gave you a gift? Sometimes it’s as small as a bottle of wine or perhaps it’s a nice basket of cutesy items. Any time you get a gift it’s a nice suprise. I have a friend who is a real estate agent and she loves to give her clients local items.

When I was pregnant with my 2nd baby in 2020 I opted out of maternity photos. It was during Covid and I figured, well, I had them with my first so the most important thing is that I have newborn photos taken. I’m glad I opted for newborn photos but I really should have just went ahead and scheduled maternity while I was at it.

Family spring sessions are probably my favorite time of year for photoshoots. It’s not too hot, the days can be warm, and you get your photos back quicker than in the fall. While fall has beautiful colors and usually some nice weather too I just love the freshness of spring. New grass growth, the leaves have finally come back on trees and the air just smell fresh and full of life.

This shoot with Lisa taught me that I really love branding photo sessions. I’ve mentioned before but I started my work history at my parents company back in California. It’s a construction company and I did NOT want to work for my parents.

After I took photos for Natalie Tromburg of her family at Edwards Greenhouse in Boise I was so excited to get my own kids down there. My mother-in-law was coming to town for a visit. I asked her to bring some clothes that she would like to be photographed in.

I find that with most session I do, I return home and say “that is my favorite type of session!”. I really do love being invited into families homes and documenting such a precious time. Having a newborn in your home really lasts for such a short period of time. It’s really important to actually document it.

Saying Goodbye to Boise! I met Carrie at the Little Gym back in the beginning of 2021. I had a newborn and was bringing Camryn to a combo ballet/gym class. Let’s just say I wasn’t getting out much!

Liz had booked me months prior to this session. We thought about fall family photos and then she switched to winter, thinking it would be fun to do a snowy session. Snow is a little difficult in that you’ve got to be ready on the fly! Also during winter kids tend to get sick more often…so we kept getting delayed.

My kids have sure loved their baba’s! Everyone has different names for them; Paci, Baba, Bubba, Bobby, Nubby, to all kinds of words I’ve never even heard of! I know that it’s recommended for kids to not have pacifiers after a certain age, and I know it’s much younger than 3.5. There are quite a few reasons I haven’t pushed my kids to drop their pacifiers at an earlier age. Let’s get down to the history of babas with our kids.

On the side I work for Natalie Tromburg Photography as her associate photographer. One great aspect about this is we’re able to take photos for each other as trades. This is the second time I have taken her familys photos. Natalie wanted to celebrate her daughter, Eden turning one with a photoshoot at Edwards Greenhouse in Boise.
